ShelfariI was checking my gmail and saw a link to Forbes.com for a particular article labelled Commadante Obama. Considering all the entertainingly bogus claims that Obama is a communist I thought that this also might be an entertaining read. The author, Peter Robinson, did not fail me in the least. The first four paragraphs were fantastic! It was pure story, and I can just imagine the finger puppets used to illustrate the point.
He made a sharp turn into the false statement minefield when in the fifth paragraph he wrote ‘During the campaign, Obama had failed to advance a genuine agenda, instead campaigning on “hope” and “change.” In effect, he had asked Americans to turn the nation over to him on blind faith.’ Apparently Mr. Robinson had not been listening to Mr. Obama when he was campaigninig for president and he talked about pulling out of iraq, lowering taxes for 95 percent of Americans, Working on Health Carre Reform, increase spending and support for education, and the other parts of his agenda. Mr. Robinson could not even bother to visit barackobama.com and read his agenda. I could, and did.
Mr. Robinson then finger puppets his way through the standard conservative tripe that since Obama reached out to so many, his supporters are now ‘faceless’. Yes, the 25 Ohio policemen who have jobs due to the stimulus package are faceless. Your finger puppets are wise beyond their years…
Then he dives back into the falsehood minefield with the statement ‘On Feb. 17, for example, the president had signed an $800 billion “stimulus” bill, at least three-quarters of which was devoted not to stimulus but to political payoffs.’ Please, Mr. Robinson, show me anywhere in the stimulus package where there was a political payoff! This time it’s the boldness that is entertaining, and of course he doesn’t try to back it up with facts, because there are absolutely no facts in existence to back up his lie! He then uses that lie as fact to call the stimulus package the most reckless fiscal act in america history! Talk about Orwellian doublespeak!
The next paragraph actually had me choking I was laughing so hard. Mr. Robinson effectively blamed Obama for the nationalization of the banks, AIG and the auto companies! Sorry, but it was actually Bush who privatized the banks and AIG, oh and Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Obama is just dealing with Bush’s mess.
Lastly he tries to link Obama with censorship. Clearly the most laughable of this whole puppet show! After all, the first President to volutarily post his work on the internet for all to see is clearly interested in censorship! He specifically invokes the Fairness Doctrine. He falsely claims that a radio station would have to pair conservative hosts who have large audiences and liberal hosts who have small audiences together. Using that false claim, he deduces illogically that this would effectively censor the conservative hosts. So lets see, he uses a false claim illogically to come to a conclusion that has absolutely no basis in reality. Even if Obama wanted to institute the Fairness Doctrine, that Doctrine in no way forces hosts with opposing views to pair up, it merely forces stations to show opposing viewpoints. If we step further into the mad world of the finger puppets and imagine that the hosts have to be paired up, it cannot be claimed that any host would be censored. They can still say whatever they were able to say before and have no fear of government prosecution. There is not even a guarantee of them losing their audience, although I wll concede that most likely there would be less finger puppet dittoheads if finger puppet host pairings occured.
As I write more and more, I realize that the same offenses are repeated over and over again. Therefore to break that pattern this post must end. It was much more fun reading it and imagining the puppet show. So If you can stomach puppets, lies and falsehoods go check out the story. It is a horrible example of writing, but it makes for mind boggling theatre!
