ShelfariThere are a lot of people who are still writing blogs and articles about Carrie Prejean. They are digging up old topless photos, threatening to take away her Miss California crown and otherwise running a smear campaign.
I was fortunate to actually read an article at Huffington Post which basically has the same thoughts on this whole subject as I do.

I think that any two people, biologies and sexual orentations of any mix, have the right to get married if they wish.
Also, I think that people have the right to speak up for what they believe in without being attacked for it. While legally this only pertains to government persecution I also think that this should also carry into the rest of life. That is not to say that the question cannot be debated, but discussions and actions should be held to the subject and not look for other ways to drag her under the mud.
In many ways I feel bad for Miss Prejean. I feel bad that she does not know that in most of the USA same sex marriages are not legally binding. I feel sorry that she was asked such a polarizing question for a beauty crown. I am also sad that she chooses to cling to her religious beliefs, even as I respect her for doing it in the firestorm of crap that the blogs are shoving at her.
People need to lay off Miss Prejean and let her live her life. If you want her to change to your point of view you had better be prepared to debate her rationally instead of breeding hate and using irrrelevant attacks. We want to take care that in fighting intolerance that we do not in turn become intolerant.
