Audra Shay: New GOP “Racist” Headache On Facebook


For those of you who do not see the racist slur, please read the whole article on The Daily Beast.

I noticed that everyone is slamming Audra Shay, and I agree with that. I would have accepted her defense of ‘I was replying to the previous comment’ because forgetting to hit refresh is a common mistake and she may have not seen the racial slur post. It does not explain why she de-friended one of the people who called Eric out on the slur. It would be consistent with her de-friending Conner, after all Conner took it to another level and slammed Shay on her own Facebook, a social site no-no as much as it’s a blog no-no.

So ultimately I am on the fence whether or not Audra Shay is a racist or just someone who reacts quickly to perceived slights.

It is 100% clear to me that Eric Pike is a complete racist and deserves much more lambasting. He should be receiving much more of the backlash from the slur than Audra should ever deserve.

I am thinking that Audra is the V.P. of the Young Republicans, so she is a much bigger target. It’s actually quite a shame.

Oh, and before anyone ‘wonders if I am a Repub or not’, I am not easily labelled but consider myself a Democrat.

    It’s concerning to me that people who are elected officials, who should know better, decided to continue to support Audra, even after she made these racist statements.

    People that not only supported her but continued to run on Audra Shay’s Ticket such as:
    Audra Shay’s Treasurer Candidate – Kelly Arnold, County Clerk – Sedgwick County, Kansas
    Audra Shay’s Auditor Candidate – Dennis Cook, President, Consolidated District 230 Board of Education – Illinois (who is thinking of running for Statewide Office in Illinois)

    I think it is unacceptable to have these elected officials continue to get elected after their support of such behavior from Mrs. Shay. They should resign along with Mrs. Shay.
