ShelfariLets start with the basics. I am a 40 year old happily married father of a beautiful 19 month old son that I affectionately refer to as either ‘Little Monkey Boy’ or ‘Alpha Cub’. I was born and raised in Huntington Station, New York and live in San Antonio, Texas. My work field is computer tech support.
I am pretty much a jack-of-all-trades (master of none?) so I will write just about anything. There are certain topics that I will write much more about, and those are my interests. They include Politics, Games – particularly role playing games, My Family, Reading and Writing. The order is not important.
My Family is very much the most important part of my life. This does not mean that they will have the lion’s share of the posts here. I tend to shy away from putting a lot of family information on the internet, even if it is a personal blog. There will be a life update from time to time here.
If I had to describe my political views with one word, I think I would choose independent. I usually agree with what the Democrats want to do. I voted for Obama. I do reserve the right to analyze any viewpoints and have my own thoughts on them. Obvious breaks from the Democratic party line are my thoughts on gun control and the Second Amendment. I will post here and there about things that just happen to catch my attention that is political. Usually the more political posts I make the angrier I am about the situation.
When I was in my early teens I saw my first Dungeons and Dragons game book. The art, a huge dragon on a pile of gold with puny humans threatening it, captured me right away. I have been hooked since. Since then I have played lots of other games. I have played more games than most people have even knew existed, card games, board games, wargames, role-playing games, LARP and more. I can play a mean game of Monopoly!
I do love, Love, LOVE reading and writing. My writing skill can use a little work, but that is one of the many things that blogs are for! I am still trying to become a librarian as far as a career choice but I am not sure if I will be able to arrange that. I can read lots of books, and write reviews. I think that being a Book Reviewer would be a fantastic career also. Here is where I will showcase my talents, such as they are.
Well, that is me in a nutshell. I can be a nutcase from time to time. There is of course so much more, but I will reserve that for other days.
